About Me
Hi, I’m Pastor Danny Ray Darden. I serve House of Life in Dunn, NC, a congregation within the World Church denomination.
Terry, my wife of 40 years, and I have two children—Daniel Lynn and Crystal Elizabeth—and six wonderful grandchildren. My story is one of God’s grace. After my parents divorced when I was 16, I slipped into the patterns I’d seen: drinking, smoking four packs a day, and gambling whenever I could. But God stepped in, and the Holy Spirit began to work on my heart. He took away the taste for alcohol. In denial, I tried switching to liquor, and it made me sick—I knew God was calling me. Terry and I started going to church, we were saved, and we began living for the Lord.
Not long after, I was diagnosed with heart disease and later underwent open-heart surgery. One bypass collapsed; I was eventually told I had three 100% blockages, and because of low blood pressure, medications wouldn’t help. Since then I’ve received three stents and a pacemaker; both hips have been replaced, and I’ve had three back surgeries. Through it all, God has sustained me.
About five years ago, the Lord called me to preach His Word. I’ve tried to stay obedient to that calling every day. I’m here to point people to Jesus, to teach the Scriptures, and to love this community well—for as long as God gives me breath. All glory to God.
